I just had this issue as well with the Pickaxe. It's no where in my inventory.

You need pickaxe for Cleo. If you havent it in Crafting Scrolls than you miss it or have bug
I think it's a bug cause I took it (twice)!
What can I do? I tried from the beginning but it does the same thing.
Edit: found! I used the cheat mod. I put again the Common and Map020 and launched again the game: the scroll is in my inventory!

All NLT games had problems with cheat mods. In ToN thread was some issue about mods every release.
I removed the Common and Map020.json from the cheat mod (and replaced the originals) and the scroll came in the inventory! ;-)

there's already an app for that.. unfortunately, it's very sh!tty.What?? you use your phone to play this game?? People nowadays use their phone for too many things. Next thing you know there will be an app so that you can use it for T.P.

So in game Cleopatra spoke Greek to show Margaret she know the language the Ptolemies, a dynasty of Greek heritage, spoke colloquially although she herself learn the native Egyptian language, as well as several languages, so she could communicate with her people. According to my girlfriend's "sister" the conversation Cleo and Margaret had went as below.
Margaret: Save me your act. Do you even know what language Cleopatra spoke?
(Cleopatra gives Margaret the Lin Gem)
Margaret: This... this is impossible!
Cleopatra (in Greek): Is it?
Margaret: How did you find this?... How did you find the Lin Gem?
Cleopatra (in Greek): It's a gift from Athena.
Margaret: You know her?
So it looks like Cleopatra has a personal relationship with Athena in SotS. Could they be friends? Enemies? Frenemies? Goddess and worshipper? I wonder and look forward to see.

that's the same dialog I get too! Besides gifts fill the Appreciation bar and the candle fills it 100% it's Flirting that fills the Attraction bar and mine only filled 50% no matter the gift I gave her
I just restarted and followed the walkthrough exactly and I am sure you need to have a certain level of Intelligence or another stat so look at the walkthrough and get some levels to your stats and try again

That was my idea too, I only didn't have the will power to start again yet...
maybe just look through the walkthrough to see if there are any ways to increase your stats that you haven't done yet and just do those and try her again without starting over??
